Redesigning Architectural Digest - Sequential Design final project.
Architectural Digest is one of my favorite publications. It is a standard in the interior design community and renowned throughout the world. The articles are fascinating, and can be enjoyed by anybody from any walk of life. However, the layout is not the best. For my Sequential Design class the Professor wanted the students to choose a publication and redesign the layout. Architectural Digest was the perfect choice for me.
We had to find our own images, articles, etc. and basically recreate a magazine in a new form. The final project needed a front cover, a Table of Contents, two articles each two spreads long, and two departments one spread each. I opted for a modular grid to give the magazine a very structured and modern feel. Unfortunately, the bleed isn't maintained in this display, however there is quite a bit going on in this project. Final dimensions are 10" x 10".
